A brief history of the Practice
In 1980 the surgery in Vicarage Lane was conceived and built by Dr Gerald Clark and Dr Geldard. Prior to that, the surgery in Walton was operated from a small basement in the High Street.
Due to increasing demands, a new surgery was built in Kirby Cross which opened in November 1990 and in 1995 the Walton site was extended.
In October 2014, due to a significant shortage of doctors which, over the months, forced the practice to significantly reduce its operability from the branch surgery, the practice took the decision to close the Kirby Cross surgery and draw in its boundary, in a bid to better manage the workload for the remaining doctors and clinical staff.
Our aims are simple
They are to provide the best quality, comprehensive healthcare for our patients. The practice is committed to the principles of the Improving Working Lives (IWL) standards to provide a positive, employment friendly approach to the delivery of our healthcare service. Attainment of the IWL standard was achieved by the practice in 2005 and, in 2006, we achieved accreditation to be a ‘Two Ticks’ Positive about Disabled People employer.
